Substitute Teachers

Substitute teachers are a unit within SVFT.

There are several groups of substitutes within this group:

  • Substitutes within SUHSD schools are covered within our own contract
  • The USTU-United Substitute Teachers Union-represents subsitutes in our three feeder districts:
    • Salinas City Elementary District
    • Santa Rita District
    • Alisal Union District

Each of these three districts have their own contracts, of course, so despite their unified representation within SVFT, the terms of their wages, working conditions, etc. are determined by each district.
